Ninh Binh is about 90 km away from Ha Noi to the south. Ninh Binh is located on Red river delta with geographical co-orrdinate from 19050' to 20027' at Northern latitude and from 105032' to 106033' at Eastern longitude. Ninh Binh shares the administative border with Ha Nam in the North, Nam Dinh in the East, the East Sea in the Southeast, Thanh Hoa in the West and Southwest, and Hoa Binh in the Northwest.
With over 1,400km2 of natural area, Ninh Binh has forests, sea and a diverse system of fauna and flora. Ninh Binh topography encompasses plains and the mountains of the Vietnam northwest mountain range. Ninh Binh also keeps a strategic position for military security and social development. Here, troops were usually rallied on their way to the north or south of Vietnam, creating famous victories in Vietnamese national history.
Ninh Binh is endowed with many places of particular interest which have been welknown inside and outside Vietnam such as Tam Coc – Bich Dong, Cuc Phuong National Park, Trang An Grottoes and Van Long Nature Reserves. There are also many historical relics, for instances Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, Bich Dong Pagoda, Thai Vi Temple, Phat Diem Stone Cathedral, Tam Diep Defense Line.... All of them are attractive to both Vietnamese and foreign tourists. Ninh Binh is the charming land of myth and unique landscapes.
Ninh Binh’s topography comprises three different types of landscapes: wetlands, coastal delta, hills and mountains. With such a variety of landscapes, Ninh Binh offers many tourist attactions as primitive rain forest, mountains, hills, river delta and the coastal delta. Furthermore, Ninh Binh is endowed with numerous historical relics dating back to the Dinh, Early Le, Ly and Tran dynasties from the 10th-13th century. Anually, Ninh Binh has many traditional festivals reflecting the cultural identites of Red river delta villages.
With a deeply rooted history and cultural tradition, the people of Ninh Binh are traditionally very industrious, hard working, studious, kind, patriotic and particularly hospitale.
Most tourist attractions are situated within a radius of 50km from the provincial city of Ninh Binh and the linking with all major transport systems as the national highway No 1A and the South – North railway.... Therefore, long distance busses and trains from Hanoi to Hue, Ho Chi Minh city and vice versa stop here making Ninh Binh an ideal place to spend several days relaxing.

Tam Coc is the most famous of Ninh Binh. It is a natural place, which the Vietnamese call The Halong Bay on land, located 7 km to the West of the city where we will travel in boats rowing (called sampan) River Ngo Dong, that runs between rice paddies, caves and rock formations.

Very near the caves of Tam Coc, we have the area of Bich Dong, where today still endure the passage of time the year 1428 pagoda built in the mountain.

Almost as impressive as Tam Coc but less tourism, we have the natural Trang An Eco-Park, near the ancient capital of Hoa Lu. Trang An is an area of 1400 square kilometres of crystal clear water, vegetation, wildlife, temples, caves and caverns.
By Trang An promenade, the style of Tam Coc, offers a spectacular stop at the temples Trinh Tran and Khong, temples that we back to Vietnam of the Tran dynasty.

In Kim Son village, 29 km from Ninh Binh, we have the Phat Diem Cathedral. Built at the end of the 19th century the Cathedral, built in wood and stone, took 29 years to finish its construction.
Phat Diem is one of the most important of Vietnam Catholic cathedrals and is considered one of the masterpieces of the Sino-Vietnamese architecture. and although most of the buildings and chapels are closed to the public, the area of Phat Diem is beautiful, since it is surrounded by an ornamental lake, presided over by a statue of Jesus Christ with open arms that rises in the middle of an artificial island in the middle of the Lake. The entrance to Phat Diem is free and the opening hours are from 7:00 to 17:30 without interruption.
Today Hoa Lu, with 14 square kilometers, almost everything has been reduced to dust and ashes, remaining in good conversation been Temples devoted to the Ding King, the Temple of the King you and Bai Dinh pagoda.
Hoa Lu Citadel rises at the foot of the mountains Ma Yen, place from where we have a privileged view of the ancient capital and the temples Le and Dinh.
The Citadel of Hoa Lu defensido system is designed in sections, using the surrounding as defensive elements (Ma Yen mountains and the River São Khe). The mountains are to the North of Hoa Lu and the rest of the sections (section East, West, and South) are protected by walls 10 meters high and half a meter wide.
The eastern section is the area of Hoa Lu where the palaces are, in this part have the temples of the Kings Dinh and Le, and the Pagoda Nhat Tru. The Sao Khe River flows through the sections of East and West, the latter being the place where the courts and the army were.

Bai Dinh pagoda, located 5 km from Hoa Lu, is the pagoda of the Ninh Binh province that holds numerous records: it is the largest of Vietnam Pagoda (700 hectares), inside we have one of the largest Asian statues of Buddha in bronze (100 tons), the largest collection of statues of Arhat of the world (500 statues) and also the largest Bell of all Vietnam (36 tons).
The Bai Dinh Pagoda is located behind the mountains of rock, in the area of Gia Sinh (Ninh Binh province). Bai Dinh pagoda is name in honor of the ancient pagoda which was Bai Dinh in this place and also by the mountains.
To access the Bai Dinh Pagoda be reached via a road mile in which only small cars and motorbikes have access, that means that if we are going by bus, we can not continue beyond this point, however, we can rent a scooter for to go that way.

For flora and fauna lovers are in luck in Ninh Binh. It Cuc Phoung natural park is home to some species of flora and fauna that are difficult to find, in its interior we can see trees hundreds of years old and 70 meters in height, as well as to see birds, butterflies and orchids.
